Of course, this was the first time either of them hadbeen mad at the other for something directly done. So she was half expecting to not answer the door.

Removing her fear had done wonders with her temper. She'd never realized how much of her anger stemmed from how scared she was all the time. However, staring down at the unconscious blond, she could feel heat inside her rising. Hatred burned from her eyes but Claire would never know. Her eyes were rapidly moving under her eyelids to what Tori knew was a nightmare. She knew because she was the one that haunting the personal assistant and trapping her in her own mind to relive the worst most horrible moments in her life with steadily growing intensity. Eventually, the horror would become too great and her body wouldn't be able to take it. It was a terrible way to go but Tori wouldn't have willingly spared the blond from a second of it.

"Sorry about the wine. If I had known you were coming over I would have gotten some Scotch or something." The personal assistant chuckled nervously. "Would you like to sit down?"

"You and I both know that I'm not here for the booze, Ms. Dennisan." Tori dropped her voice making it come out in a low deep timber as she moved living room. Everything in the room looked like it came from ikea. It wasn't Tori's style but the real Ray Nelson would have been judging so hard. The man drove a Rolls Royce and drank scotch. He wasn't the kind of guy who would make his own coffee table.

As soon as Tori sat down, long tan legs were straddling her. She damn near made an eep sound and broke character. "I, uh, hello."

Illusions were a little like acting. Actually, they were a lot like acting because even if the illusion itself was flawless and Tori looked, smelled, sounded, and even felt like the aging studio executive, if her mannerisms weren't right, her little blond target's brain would fight back and possibly even break the illusion. She liked bars and clubs best. Places with alcohol were always the easiest for Tori to control because even if she wasn't flawless, drunk people didn't usually notice anyway.

Though it really wasn't all that hard being Ray Nelson. She just had to act like she could buy and sell every person in the room all the while flashing that toothy shark grin. Striding up to the bar, she ordered a scotch on the rocks, then proceeded to pretend not to see Claire until the man's little blond assistant finally noticed him.

Typically, when she would bathe, she would hang on to her towel until the last possible moment. Gymnophobia wasn't just about self-esteem or body issues. She was at her most vulnerable in the time it took to lather, rinse, and repeat. Without her layers, she didn't feel safe.

Getting ready for her shower, she fell into her usual habit then stopped. There was no knot in her stomach or building dread. Nothing. Slowly, she let the towel fall to the floor. She waited for the familiar panic but it didn't come. Was this what it felt like to be normal?

Crazy Happy Weekend

Ordinarily, my life is pretty dull. Not in a super sad way but in a I have a full time job and if I'm going to get anything accomplished I need to have a routine sort of way. So when I do get to break that predictable little cycle I usually meet it with equal parts excitement and dread. I won't lie, I may need a weekend to recover from my weekend but it was so fun, I will gladly wait until next weekend to relax a little.

Just about every female member of my family including my bestie from St. Louis came to visit me this weekend. The goal? Finding me a wedding dress. I still have 11 months until the big day but it was an excuse to get the girls together. I felt like a straight barbie doll, trying on dress after dress. I said it from the beginning that I didn't want a strapless dress. Unlike my lil pup Tori here, mama's got some tiggo bitties. Either I would tugging the dress up all night or the dress straps me in so tight my boobs were hitting my chin. I could go into a whole rant about my irritation with the wedding dress industries obsession with strapless dresses but I will spare you. There were a couple options with straps/sleeves though and after 3 hours, I finally found the one.

I can share it with you guys because there is no way that my fiance would stumble upon it on here.

This was actually the second dress I tried on but the first time the stylist made me wear this uncomfortable corset that was not in my size and showed through my dresses. Along with these skirts underneath that had me dying they were so hot. So while I really liked the dress, I was so uncomfortable that I couldn't really appreciate it. After I schucked all that stuff and just went with my own underwear, it was much better. Later down the line, my aunt was flipping through all the pictures and noticed that there was only one dress I was really smiling for and it was this one. So I tried it on again without the corset and skirts then promptly busted out crying because it was perfect. It even fit almost perfect. I just need to hem the bottom and shorten the halter strap. An even bigger wedding miracle is that every single woman that was there with me found their dress too. I'm not having matchy matchy bridesmaids and I want all my girls in white. There was a Ross next door to the David's Bridal so we popped in there. 45 minutes later, every girl had her dress and not one of them paid more than $40 for it.

Since we got everything done months faster than we thought we were going to, we decided to reward ourselves by going to the beach.

For the last week, she'd been following the assistant of Ray Nelson, CEO of HBP Studios. Night after night, Tori chipped away at the girl's subconscious leaving nightmares in her wake. Originally, she thought Claire was just a bystander but the blond was far from innocent. She was one of them.

Slowly, Tori stands up and stretches her legs. She can see Claire inside still tossing and turning in her high thread count Egyptian cotton sheets. A devious smile tugs at the corner of the red head's lips just before she turns to leave.

"Sweet dreams, Claire. See ya tomorrow."

The first thing she saw, before she even dropped her duffel, was the urn. Cremation was the only real option left when the deceased has to be collected in chunks and put in plastic baggies. Adept died quietly but just about everyone else on Tori's former team, including her brother, overloaded. There would be no open caskets. Maybe if they had just scattered Tommy's ashes somewhere, Tori could have stayed but her mother insisted on keeping her oldest son's remains close.

I have no excuse. Not really. One week turned into 2. Then 3. By then I knew that my RL situation wasn't going to be fixed any time soon and I just thought it would be better if I just faded out, you know? I'd made so many posts apologizing for being a flake. The truth is that it wasn't really my choice, so much as my guilt, that kept me from gaming.
